Pete Johnston has been composing music since the tender age of four. He first found inspiration for his special attention to music and its attendant technologise when he adapted a simple recording cassette player to create a quasi-multi-tracking system of his own. He inserted a matchstick in such a way as to stop the tape coming into contact with the erase head while still coming into contact with the recording head. Henceforth he found himself able to layer and emulate Beatles’ harmonies and thus technology reciprocally allowed him to investigate music. In this way, from the very outset, Pete seems to have ben destined to be a precocious and exceptional hybrid composer/technologist.
